 Joke Proper, lives and works in Olst-Wijhe, a village situated between the cities of Deventer and Zwolle in the Netherlands.

Proper is searching for the deeper layers within the minds of human beings. Recent works apear to show moments out ordinary life initially, but on a deeper level they are about -un-pleasant situations within those lives.

Propers works are on display in the Netherlands, Belgium, USA, England, Brunei, Scotland, Curaçao and Japan.
